Dick has been involved in the pageantry arts activity for over 50 years. He was a marching member for 16 years and was both a drummer and Drum Major during that time. He has been a visual instructor, visual designer and staff coordinator for Drum Corps, Marching Bands and Winter Color Guards in the Boston area since 1970.
He began his judging career in 1972. Dick has judged nationally for Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Associates, and Winter Guard International, including the Championship Contests for all three associations. He has also adjudicated Marching Band contests for the Indiana State School Music Association, US Scholastic Band Association, New England Scholastic Band Association, MBDA and MICCA associations, as well as many Invitational competitions nationally.
Currently he is a member of the Massachusetts Judges Association and is a former Visual Caption Head for Drum Corps Associates.
Dick was elected to the Massachusetts Drum Corps and Music Educators Hall of Fame in 2016.
He worked for Verizon Communications for 38 years in one of their engineering departments.
Dick lives in Ipswich, Mass. with his wife Pat.
