Peter L. Furnari is a percussionist, instructor and adjudicator with over 40 years of experience as a performer and educator. He has performed as a drummer-percussionist in a number of club bands in the Greater Boston area and was also a percussionist in the Collins Center Orchestra. 


Specializing in arranging for marching band, drum corps and indoor percussion, he’s had the opportunity to be a percussion arranger for numerous independent and scholastic percussion ensembles across North America, the United Kingdom and Europe. 


He has been the percussion arranger for the U.Mass Lowell Marching Band from 1983 to present day, and served as the director of marching percussion at UML from 1983-2007. He was the program coordinator and percussion arranger for the Spartan Drum Corps from 1995 -2007, 2010-11 and program coordinator in 2015. 


He is currently the percussion instructor and arranger for the Danvers High School Marching Band and their Winter Percussion Ensemble. 


He joined the Mass Judges Association in 1976 and has been an adjudicator at a national and international level ever since. He has been an active judge for DCI (Drum Corps International) from 1983 to present, WGI (Winter Guard International) from 2000 to present. 


He has been invited to judge marching band festivals, drum corps and indoor percussion competitions throughout the United States and Canada. 


He has had the privilege of being a guest adjudicator for the championships of Drum Corps Europe, the United Kingdom and Japan. In 2009, he was inducted into the Massachusetts Drum Corps and Music Educators Hall of Fame. 


He currently lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts with his wife and two daughters.
