Dr. Andrew Bard began in the pageantry arts in his local high school when he was 14. While playing trumpet in high school marching band, he always kept an eye on the colorguard because he was fascinated with how the guard enhanced the program, both with color and movement.  He was mesmerized with the flags, rifles and sabers and how the team was manipulating each the equipment. During his freshman year in high school, he was the first male performer in his high school color guard program.

He participated in his local high school winter guard program and eventually took over the program in 2002. Andrew has instructed many high school programs across the state and has provided private consulting services to local high school colorguard in Maine. Andrew has instructed independent color guards such as Maine Attraction and Taboo – out of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

He had the pleasure of being a performing member in guards such as Taboo 2003 and Blessed Sacrament World.

Andrew has been an active member in the Massachusetts Judging Association for the last decade. He is an active  judge in the caption of equipment for the New England Scholastic Band Association, Musical Arts Conference (MAC), and Maine Band Directors Associations circuits   Andrew also judges the visual caption for fall marching band.

Andrew is the current secretary and treasurer of the Massachusetts Judging Association.

Andrew holds a doctorate degree in Transformational Leadership from the University of New England, focusing on stress and burnout in the field of education, specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Andrew is currently a school principal in Lewiston, Maine and an adjunct professor for the University of New England.
